Hello,
John Newton the writer of the popular song "Amazing Grace" was a prolific slave trader who frequented Sierra Leone to pickup slaves. The song came from his own experience, when he himself was brutalized by the crew while working as a servant on a slave ship. But apparently, he saw nothing wrong with Africans being brutalized on the same ship, because when he himself became Captain of his own ship, he continued the practice trading human flesh to the Americas. This man later became a Minister, but this man's life is full of hypocrisy, just as so many who came before and after him. Some how they do not look at Africans as being human, and therefore feel justified in their actions.
